Before I proceed I'd like to note that my thoughts are my own and they are no form of hate speech and are in no way intended to cause distress to anyone. Just so you can make the difference: Big plush kittens aka Charr wielding flamethrowers, grenade launchers/bazookas, assault rifles and riding what resembles WWII Panzer tanks is plain ridiculous in a mystical, magical MMOrpg. Now THAT is hate speech but I will NOT say that so to the point:

GW2 has truly become the cornerstone of gaming communism! They actually hired some random no-name red economist to create 'GW equality' lol... They're actually offering charts and comparing wealth distribution in the US and GW

First Anet and NCsoft started with trying to artificially force their hardcore fanbase into letting go of GW1 by ruining their hard earned investments. People spent thousands of hours in GW farming UW/FoW/DoA/Dungeons, trading etc and in the end it was for nothing when Anet thought it was a rather sly marketing move to just... give out game's rarest pets to random people who never as much as lifted a finger to do anything to deserve them.
In the end of course it backfired as thousands of hardcore fans of the GW franchise decided not to move on to GW2. Of course that's just natural for what imbecile would -ever- invest thousands upon thousands of hours grinding their games again when they can just start handing out same stuff to random people the next day lol

Now that my friends is called communism. Don't listen to what Anet tells you about how they're 'changing the gaming industry offering an innovative game mechanics'! There's nothing and I repeat NOTHING innovative about communism! It's more than a century old morally outdated and failed political doctrine that takes from hard working folks and hands out free stuff to those who are lazy/uninterested in working and contributing to society.
Anet and NCsoft don't give a crap how hard you worked to achieve the stuff you earned, how many hours you spent farming and trading, in the end of the day you'll get same dividend as those who spent their time playing Diablo 3 the whole day for instance

Now please do take your time and check the link I posted it is taken from the GW2 official website. Check their promises of the perfect 21st century communist online MMOrpg community and ask yourself... is it worth it?

GW1 got to the point where only the absolute top could only realistically trade amongst themselves for items when dealing with xxxarmbrace trades. They are not talking about taking away your 'hard earned' cash and redistributing it to lazy people. It's simply about having a larger percentage of the playerbase controlling material wealth. This is a good thing.

They're not redistributing wealth. They don't tax you 40% and give money to people making less than X gold.

It would be like a poor person winning lotto re: asian minis from 7th b-day.

In GW2 everyone has the same opportunity if you use the same amount of playtime, unlike RL. The skew in the graph is from hours played. GW2 rewards hours played more than GW1, at least for PVE and WvW.

What is being described is marxism, and in my book that is still the best political and economical system. the problem however in real life is that history has proven that when the people in charge of distributing wealth in a fair an equal way, the result is that the people distributing it are part of the same group. So they got power beyond others and then corrupcy hits in and they keep a good amount of portion for themself (more then an equal share). That is communism.

In a game however, the creators, have no benefit from being the one responable for the system. more important they are not the ones deciding how the market develops, they only arte stting the rough outlines without having self interest in it.

That has nothing to do with communism but with dictatorship. So the person responsible for the gw2 economic system is a dictator. But one that doesn't have any benefit in the system (as long as people buy his game so he get paid in rl). So he is impartial and decides what is good or wrong. If you don't agree with how he does it don't play the game.

Ow btw, did you know that GW 'promotes' homosexuality??
(hmppfff, would love to link the wiki page right now, but the wiki is down, but if you pick the green knight option in the silvari storyline you have a quest where a male silvari saves his lover who is also a male silvari.....

Bottom line, pls be open minded bout the world and all its diversity and don't think that hollywood decides what is good or right. everyopne is entitled to his/her opinion so don't place things into boxes cause you might be sorting it the wrong way.

I was told that in GW2 you get penalized and have to pay in-game money for not being prepared with self heals. You either equip them or purchase the Obamacare expansion option in the ArenaNet store. Is this true?
